Offbeat Monpa Experiences
Walk through a Monpa valley with a local guide, then taste traditional Monpa tea. Share a traditional Arunachali lunch with more than eight dishes in an old Monpa-style house, with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.
Join local artisans to try the traditional process of making paper from tree bark. Visit a 200-year-old Monpa house to learn about village life, then see an ancient grain mill still used by villagers, powered by flowing water without electricity or backup power.
Enjoy a riverside picnic with a traditional local lunch, a village stroll and an evening in nature. Bonfire and music can be arranged where permitted. On a separate guided village trail, meet Monpa residents, learn about local flora and fauna, follow a mountain river, cross hanging bridges and pause for a riverside lunch.
Experiences are arranged with local hosts, subject to availability, weather and village permissions.
